Start with your workload.
Use this practical guide to frame an inference comparison before choosing a model, engine, or search strategy.
A useful technical discussion
starts with specific questions.
- What are you serving? Record the model candidate and immutable revision.
- What does demand look like? Define input/output lengths, concurrency, prompt count, and seed.
- What can the hardware run? Identify observed GPU type/count and verified engine image.
- Which tradeoff matters? Specify throughput, E2E latency, or TTFT and any hard limits.
- What makes results comparable? Preserve context, serving configuration, and artifact fingerprints.
- How will you validate the winner? Reserve independent inference validation.
